Gavin Mackenzie

Managing Director
Gavin Mackenzie is the Founder and Managing Director of GMC Surveying, bringing over 23 years of industry experience to the leadership of the company. As a Registered Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland, he has played a key role in delivering major resource and infrastructure projects across Australia. Under his guidance, GMC Surveying has grown into a team of more than 50 skilled professionals, recognised for technical excellence and client-focused service.

Steve Say

Financial Director
Steve Say is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of experience in finance, governance, and commercial operations. His background includes working with ASX-listed and multinational companies, where he has managed budgets exceeding $1 billion and advised on complex tax, legal, and corporate matters. At GMC Surveying, Steve leads the financial, legal, and administrative functions, ensuring the company’s operations are strategically aligned and commercially sound.

Anthony Gray

Cadastral Survey Manager (QLD)
Anthony Gray is a Registered Surveyor with over 30 years of experience spanning cadastral, consulting, and engineering surveying. His career includes significant contributions across both public and private sectors, with a strong focus on land development, infrastructure, and large-scale engineering projects. Anthony has successfully led major cadastral and engineering survey initiatives throughout Queensland and internationally, including complex subdivisions and infrastructure developments.

Chris Brannock

Operations Manager
Chris Brannock is a Registered Surveyor with 22 years of industry experience and formal qualifications in both Surveying and Civil Engineering. Since joining GMC Surveying in 2011, he has played a key role in delivering major civil and mechanical construction projects across Queensland. Chris brings a practical, solutions-focused approach to project execution, ensuring field operations run efficiently and to the highest standards.

Heath Poole

Survey Manager
Heath Poole is a senior surveyor with over 18 years of experience spanning high-rise construction, civil infrastructure, and the resource sector. His extensive project portfolio includes major developments in Sydney and Brisbane, large-scale subdivisions, and complex industrial facilities. With a strong technical foundation and practical field expertise, Heath plays a key role in managing survey operations and ensuring project accuracy across a broad range of sectors.

Phil Davies

Spatial Data Manager
Phil Davies brings over 30 years of industry experience to his role as Spatial Data Manager. A graduate of QUT with a degree in Surveying, Phil has worked on major international projects in the Middle East, Africa and throughout Asia. Since returning to Australia, he has led complex infrastructure modelling for large-scale highway and rail initiatives. He combines technical surveying expertise with advanced programming skills to automate workflows and enhance project efficiency.
